Ok I found a way to disable voice mail and you can enable again at anytime. I will write a step by step when I get home from work.

Looking forward to it. If it works, GV will consistently handle my voicemail.

ok here we go. first locate your mj folder. In winxp its C:\Documents and Settings\Joe\Application Data\mjusbsp. next you need to delete the file named big.skn or the small.skn. Then you restart your mj to reveal the softphone without the magicjack skin. Some of the old timers here will remember exactly what I'm talking about. Once you restart your mj there will be features available that you can't see with the mj skin.
The feature we're interested in here is the "Transfer" option.
Click on Transfer then where it says "number" at the top enter your mj number. Thats right you want to transfer the call to your number. Then under "conditions" at the botton check the radion button "on no answer for" right after that put 20 sec. in the box. Click ok to exit and save.
Youre pretty much done now. The mj skin will restore itself by simply unpluging the jack and pluging it back in.
Try calling your mj and you will see that now it will just ring forever till you pick up the phone. Now you can set an answering machine to pick up at what ever number of rings you wish.
This is great for the people who take for ever to get to the phone. No more running because mj picks up on the 4tth ring. The phone will simply just ring forever.
To enable mj voice mail again simply repeat the steps to reveal the "transfer" feature and uncheck the radio button and all is back to normal.
I did notice a side affect to this. The call log will show multiple missed calls when someone calls depending on how long it takes you to answer the phone. In other words if you let the phone ring 8 times it will show two missed calls even tho you answered the phone. No big deal but just wanted you to know that.

Ps. if you get an error that you can't delete the skin file its because you're trying to delete the one in use so if it says you cant delete big just delete the small and make sure you switch to the one you deleted before you restart mj or you won't see the basic skin with the hidden features.

I hope all this is clear I'm very tired right now just worked a 14 hour shift .

Then you could also do it by changing the registry values at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\talk4free\USB Softphone\Options\Calling Options

CallForwardingEnabled 4 (decimal)
CFNoAnswerTimeout 20 (decimal)

Is this setting stored locally only or does it make the change on the MJ servers as well? Curious as to if this change will stick if an ATA is used after making the update.

Nice work, but i think this will only work locally, and with the use of the dongle I don't think you can actually change settings on the server.
The good thing is it works, so I am going to play with my setting in the PAP2T and see if it works.

Thanks for the input.

Its only stored locally. If you unplug the jack mj voice mail will pick up the call.

Weird my uniden 580 picks up on 4 rings and the other person keeps getting a ring maybe i need to change to 6 rings because of the 4th ring being right at the 20 sec mark when it forwards the call.

I will try thanks.

I just accomplished the same setup in my PAP2T by changing one setting in my user line.

Cfwd No Ans Dest: Your MJ number

This change will make your MJ ring forever until you pick it up.

If you are using line1 go to user1 settings.
