Have had trouble with the house phones ringing oddly and sparatic intermittently, now they don't ring at all and calls are coming and going silently and I seem to have lost my answering service personal message? What settings should I change on Dell phone box computer XP Pro servicepack 3 with microsoft essential antivirus on my network?? |

As far as your voice mail outgoing message goes, contact MJ support via chat and have them reset your voicemail. Then your password will go back to 1234 and you will have to set up your outgoing message again.
As far as your phone not ringing. If you are using the extension cord that came with your MJ, don't. It causes way more problems than it is worth. Also be sure to be using a USB port in the rear of your PC. I would also go into your device manager and then go into the USB section and check that all of your USB root hubs power settings are NOT set to save power. If so uncheck the box to change that for all of them. If all of that fails, you may want to look into a POWERED USB hub. For info on that just do a search this forum for POWERED hub.

It looks like no one got back to you after your last post. Are you still having trouble? You say the program doesn't load, but the softphone comes up and it does ring? That sounds contradictory because if the program was not loaded, the softphone would not come up. Anyway; When the softphone comes up, click on the menu and then click on the volume/headset option and make sure you have it set for telephone instead of headset operation. Also make sure to run the upgrade and you do need to reboot the magic jack about once a month. _________________ Magsmom |
