I have yet to get the magic jack to work and as soon as I tried the firmware update the disk utility changed from saying ymax 7.2MB to USB combo CD-ROM 7.2MB.
Is there anyway to fix my magic jack? |

HI: I had the same problem and my MJ kept getting disconnected, chatting and getting instructions from MJ tech support was a big waste of time, nothing they did worked or worked permanently.
This is what I did to solve the problem I used DiskWarrior and rebooted my computer from the bootable disk and rebuild and replaced the graphs for my Mac hard drive, you can try rebuilding it for Magic Jack but it will not work, DiskWarrior won't recognize it as a device that it can rebuild.
I was able to use my magic jack normally after this process, I hope you find this helpful, I had to spend hours with customer service and they did not provide me any useful help, I used DiskWarrior as a last resort I figure if the magic jack kept getting disconnected that it would mess up the permissions or directories and what diskwarrior does is to make sure it repairs them so it goes back to normal, |
