Go in the dd-wrt site and choose your model number, in the case of 54g v2.0 you would see the recommended build. Into there choose the mini, it contains all you need to run MJMD5. There should also be a tutorial on how to flash the router, I found mine here http://www.scorpiontek.com/portal/ look for an article written by shawn. In there you will also find the route back to the linksys firmware.
You are right in saying that there is always a risk to brick you router. It happened to me one time and to other people much more knowledgeable than myself. But hey, no guts no glory ... ) |

I have a Linksys PAP2T which was discontinued from iConnect because of getting MJ services now. Do I still need to flask my U.S. Robotics wireless MAXg Router and then install mjproxy in it? _________________ OLD MAN |

| You need to find out if your wireless router is supported by DD-Wrt. Not sure where to find this info now, been out of this forum for couple of months. Go browse this forum and you will find out by yourself I'm sure. If not supported by ddwrt, then you probably need a compatible router like the linksys v1 to 4. |

Just for your info. my PAP2T w/MJ works just fine on a D-Link DIR 300 router and on a Linksys BEFSR41 router without installing MJMD5 or DD WRT. I don't say that it will work on any other, but so for I have had no problems with these 2 routers (actually 3 because I have used 2 different DIR 300's) at 2 different locations/networks.
Getting a D-Link DIR 650 next week, will post if I have any problems. _________________ Bruce Brenner

Are you using mjmd5 proxy fix?
Have you tried with a simple softphone like express talk from NCH?
make sure your sip credentials are valid and work using softphone. If not, implement mjmd5 in windows. Make sure your sip details work with softphone before trying the more complex pap2 implementation.
Based on the vintage of your mj hardware you may/may not need mjmd5.
Good luck

I think the router part is done as what I did below:
Result:
BusyBox v1.13.4 (2009-10-10 01:26:36 CEST) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
root@DD-WRT:~# mkdir /jffs/mjp/
root@DD-WRT:~# cd /jffs/mjp/
root@DD-WRT:/jffs/mjp# wget http://pagemen.110mb.com/mjproxy_mipsel.ipk.zip -O m
jproxy_mipsel.ipk
Connecting to pagemen.110mb.com (70.38.113.158:80)
mjproxy_mipsel.ipk 100% |*******************************| 5819 --:--:-- ETA
root@DD-WRT:/jffs/mjp# ipkg -d /jffs/mjp/ install mjproxy_mipsel.ipk
Unpacking mjproxy...Done.
Configuring mjproxy...Done.
root@DD-WRT:/jffs/mjp# mjproxy 0.0.0.0 5070 proxy01.detroit.talk4free.com 5070 my mjpassword

I downloaded and installed express talk. I tried using this proxy proxy01.detroit.talk4free.com:5070 but it kept giving me the result below:
here is what i got when i tried to register with the above proxy:
1- Register authorization failed for
sip: Exxxxxxxxxx01@proxy01.detroit.talk4free.com:5070
2- Error returned: 401 unauthorized
3- check username or password for the proxy server
Then I changed the proxy from proxy01.detroit.talk4free.com:5070 to 192.168.1.1:5070 and it worked.
I made a test call incoming/outgoing are working just fine using express talk.
but only incoming calls are working on my ATA work. please help. |

@Moe_Ale
Use the following settings in your PAP2:
Line 1
NAT Mapping Enable: No
Proxy: 192.168.1.1:5070
Use OB Proxy in Dialog: No
Display Name: your name (e.g. Moe_Ale)
Password: leave blank
Auth ID: leave blank
Hope this helps. |

I have a Linksys PAP2T ATA adapter and an ASUS RT-N13U router that I am trying to connect with a MagicJack.
I have been able to set everything except the password.
I have tried pmdump, Fiddler2, textpad, Hex Editor and still have not been able to retrieve the password.
Can anyone give me some direction on how to proceed?
Thanks in advance. |
