| I talked to tech support and they said they don't pay for return postage and the commercial clearly says it does it really burns me that they can get away with flat out lies. The only thing I can do is call the attorney generals office here in Pennsylvania unless someone else has any ideas I would be glad to read them. |

Many say its a lie, many say its a rip off, many say they gonna report it, many say they gonna sue, many say they will call their bank or credit card, but all of them never post the outcome... its funny they just vanish and never report back. Maybe they did report and realized they were wrong? Maybe they are too embarrassed to come back and report the outcome, i dunno. Maybe you might be one of them. Anyway good luck! _________________ Chat with me LIVE!!!

Gooney -- I posted another thread titled "HORRIBLE customer service!". In my post I stated that if they do not credit me the return shipping cost that I will contact various government agencies. You make an excellent point in your post about people spouting off but never reporting the outcome. I WILL REPORT MY OUTCOME! Regardless if the outcome is negative or positive, I will let people know about my experience. That's a promise (and it's a much better promise than the ones MJ makes in its commercials!) |

My uninformed opinion is that government bureaucracies are overburdened and understaffed. Let's not even get into the quality of their labor force.
For example, look at the Federal Do-Not-Call list. With the threat of huge fines, this was supposed to stop all the haranguing calls from the telemarketers so we could all go back to answering our home phones.
So how excited do you think anyone is going to get over your satifaction with a $40 puchase, especially when so many folks, self included, give such glowing testimonies? I'm sure the MJ legal beagles went over the marketing verbiage with a fine tooth comb before they invested in any advertising.
Somehow, I don't think Dan Borislow is staying awake at night worrying about whether you filed a complaint. My guess is, it will get lost in a sea of bureaucratic paperwork. But, I could be wrong; I often am. As a fallible human being, I look forward to your report. |

Exactly
All this riff raff over what it costs to mail it back?.....a couple first class stamps in a padded envalope....jeeeez
I've never had any probs in talking with their customer support....allthough I'm sure many of them are still in training with this device as we are. I can only imagine some of the crap they have to put up with as to how some of these people are communicating with them.
Rip-off, fraud, etc.......give me a break......I'd stand up in court in MJ's defense that MJ works just as they claim. |

True, but that doesn't mean that those of us with a complaint should stick our heads in the sand and do NOTHING. It is the hope of unscrupulous companies that people who got ripped-off by them just cower away with their heads hung low and their tails between their legs.

The Do Not Call List was a GREAT success! Before I registered my phone number, I averaged at least 3 or 4 annoying calls every week. Now I receive NONE.

Until a number of people complained about their false advertising, MJ legal beagles probably figured they would easily get away with it, or that no one would challenge it. True, the large majority of people are satisfied with MJ performance and their customer service, but that does not automatically nullify the complaints that many of us unsatisfied customers have. If MJ were to clean up their ads so that they are not making untrue statements about the return shipping, and if they would improve their customer service by providing a toll-free number so that people can call and TALK to a live person instead of that annoying and frustrating on-line chat, then I would not have any problems with them. The performance of the device is pretty good, although the outgoing audio volume could be improved, but that's a technical issue, rather than a service or legal issue.

I don't know who Dan Borislow is, but since you mentioned his name I suspect he is someone high on the totem pole at MJ. No, he would not lose any sleep over a handful of complainers, but I'd bet that he would lose a lot of sleep if thousands of people filed complaints and/or initiated a class-action suit against the company! |

I wish you luck... you obviously have a lot of spare time on your hands. I figure that just reading and responding to these posts has cost me more than what I paid for the MJ. I just happen to bored this evening.
As far as MJ being an unscrupulous company, I have to vigorously disagree. They have vastly exceeded my expectations.
One last thing... about the DNC list. If you are only getting 3-4 calls a week, you don't even qualify. <grin> I would get that many in an afternoon, if I bothered to answer my land line. Of course, I'm in a high visibility business, but even so, try going after someone who calls in violation. Of course, if you have a lot of spare time on your hands.... enjoy! |

You do not know me, and you are making assumptions about me just because I took the time to post my views. I will tell you that I do not have a lot of spare time on my hands, but I do enjoy a good chat with other intelligent people now and then.
I own a company that repairs X-ray equipment, and so I am very aware about what good customer service should be. If I forced my customers to contact me through an on-line chat, and if I made false claims in my advertisements, I guarantee you that I would not stay in business for very long. But companies who sell tens of thousands of widgets to the general public, can afford to play their little games and get away with it. They can also afford high-buck attorneys.
I'm done chatting here because I have better things to do, and I'll let you have the last word (if you want it)...
Thanks for your replies. |
