The only problem I have yet to figure out is that my voicemail notification stays on and flashing whether or not I have any messages or not. I shut the feature off in the RTP300, but now I get no notification even when there are messages.
Any ideas appreciated! |
hi where did you set to shut off the feature for the voice mail notification on the rtp300?
EDITED: i found it thanks anyways i set
VMWI Serv: NO
MWI Serv: NO |
Wow, I didn't know about those settings. I went to "User one" for line one and set "Message Waiting" to No.
Funny thing is that the voice mail notification seems to be working even with that setting set to no, but it seems to be working better. It does shut off after empting the mailbox, but still takes a long time to reset. |

I'm not sure but that beep might be an indicator that you have voicemail waiting for you. |

I have tried using my RTP300 using the MJMD5 prxoie method and it works great except that my phone won't ring now on incoming calls.
Anyone know what might be causing this?
Any help appreciated!

Make sure your Forwarding port is 5070 as well. |

| I followed these screenshots and everything went great I can receive calls and make calls now. My issues are small. my voicemail indicator stays on all the time and never goes off even though I dont have a message. the other thing is that sometimes when someone calls I answer it and no one can hear me and I cant hear them. I have to call them back from the number on the caller ID and then I get them. The other thing is that I check my Cell phone voicemail and when I go to hit star or any key on my phone the voicemail system cant register that I am hitting a key. Is there a setting I need to tweak for this? |

My problem is fixed about the router locking up if I forget the area code. Dont forget to change the dialing plan everyone. That fixed it for me. As far as the other issues. All of them went away. lol. It is working great. I switched servers though because the one I was on didnt dound as good. Thanks again for a great guide! |

| I have my RTP300 setup exactly like the one in this guide and I was wondering if anyone would know how to set it up to use the correct time zone for Central Time because my callerID is off on it. It is giving the wrong time for Central time. I would also be fine with it being Eastern Time because I am going to be moving to Eastern Time zone area soon. Thank you in advance. |

I have successfully setup magic jack on my rtp300 device. I am running into a different issue. I can call out and everything is fine. However when I place a call to my MJ number, it goes into voice mail.
I am running tomato on my wrt54g router and I have set port forwarding to the static ip address of my rtp300.
Any help would be appreciated. |

I have a Linksys WRTP54G with RTP300 hacked firmware 3.1.17 installed. I set it up just like the diagrams here, but I can't get a dial tone. I am behind a D-Link wireless router and a wireless bridge WRT54g running dd-wrt. I thought my problem might be from these other routers, but the MJ dongle works fine thru the same setup.
I can get Internet thru the WRTP54G if I plug my laptop into it, but no dial tone. If I disable NAT, I lose the internet but still no dial tone. I don't know what setting to try changing. Any ideas? |

Hi all. I just got a MagicJack this weekend and am totally blown away by how innovative people have gotten using these! I've read through a lot of posts here and being new to the SIP world, it's helped me along greatly.
I could really use some help on what I believe is the "last step" to getting my RTP300 working. Using posts here and from dslreports, I unlocked the router, reflashed it to the modified 3.1.24, and put in all of the SIP information, including my username and password. However, I can't get a dial tone, and Info says that the registration has "Failed". Connecting to a sipsorcery account, I can get my Line 1 LED to go solid and get a dial tone on the phone. However, sipsorcery wouldn't connect to my MagicJack account either to enable calling (it's my understanding that this is a known issue as MJ blocks the sipsorcery IPs?). Any suggestions on how to get past this point, or anything I may have set incorrectly that's preventing registration? I checked my device and according to the Wikipedia page (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/File:MagicJack_device_gen3.jpg) it's a "Gen 3", if that makes a difference.

| Any feedback on this? I see a lot of posts discussing mjmd5, is that something that also needs to be running? If so, how does that get put into the Rtp300? |

You will have to use a DD-WRT or Tomato capable router to set things up.
Once you get the router, then refer to the sticky posts. |
