The call does not go through. Entering my password puts me into the VM menu.
I spent the afternoon texting with support to no avail.
Any suggestions?

I am not dialing from my MJ phone but from my cell and from a wired phone.
Anyone calling from any phone gets the same message, "Please enter your password."

I can make calls with no difficulty but no incoming calls get beyond "Please enter your password."
If I dial my MJ number from MJ, I hear "The person at extension ###-###-#### (my MJ number) is unavailable. Please leave your message after the tone. . ."

That is how you check your voice mail. When you hear that announcement, press * and it will ask for your voice mail password. If you have never changed it, the default is 1234. |

Let me try again clarify my problem:
If I dial my MJ number from my cell or another phone, I hear "Please enter your password." If anyone else dials my MJ number, they hear the same thing.
The call does not get beyond this message and my MJ phone does not ring. Callers do not have the option of leaving a message.
Now if I call my MJ number using my MJ, it tells me that extension (my MJ number) is not available, please leave a message. I can leave a message and it will be forwarded by email.
But the only option available from any phone other than my MJ phone, is "enter your password." If I enter my password, I am in the VM setup menu.
Bottom line: any third party calling my MJ number only has the option of entering my password which they do not have. Their call will not ring to my MJ phone nor can they leave a message.
If anyone would like to give my number a try, I will PM it to you for a test.

i know mj dont have the do not disturb thing anymore but it sounds like that is what is happen to you maybe its a setting if you try a format on it but backup your AddressBook.xml you can find it in x:\magicJack it will be in the bigger drive the 17.5mb one to see it you will need to show hidden files by going to tools then folder options then view then down to hidden files and folders click on show hidden files and folders but if you dont want to back it up just skip that part and right click on the 17.5mb drive and hit format then unplug mj wait like 20secs and plug it back in and see if it sets any settings that may of been mess up or if you already did this
then i dont really know what else to say then it may be a bad mj i did have this happen to me once but it was only on calls from other mj's that try to call me it goes to VM but cell and land lines worked fine just other mj's went to VM wan called |

JMSRolls,
Did you ever get this problem sorted out?
Anyone have a simple work-around?
Thanks,
Bukzin |

This afternoon I spent almost 3 hours texting with MJ support trying to correct the problem to no avail.
All of the efforts were on my end with my MJ and my computer. Thinking through what is going on, doesn't this sound like a problem on the other end. Wouldn't it be possible for support to do a reset or something to my voicemail?
Perhaps I do not understand how MJ operates but no incoming calls get beyond "Please enter your password." Is that caused by a problem on my end? With my computer or with my MJ dongle?

jmsrolls,
just for chuckles, try turniing off your computer and calling your MJ number. If you still get the message would seem to me that the MJ network/servers have an issue. If you don't get the message then maybe it's closer to home.
Just an idea for more troubleshooting.

Good suggestion although we had already tried with the MJ unplugged from the computer and the phone line unplugged from the MJ.
Still no joy.

If you've done the computer off test, you have pretty much eliminated your end from the equation. You might try a "help chat" and stress that the problem occurs even with your computer completely off and disconnected from the network.
Good Luck

I have now spent in excess of 6 hours on "Help Chat" and nothing has changed.
Is there anyway to speak to a real live person in tech support?
