Pre-hacked could mean nothing more than the SIP info was retrieved. I have learned how to do that thanks to this site. Actually, the person who taught me is neo2121, the person offering the item for sale.
The question is, will the SIP info work in an ATA? I have seen plenty of SIP info retrieved from MJs that simply don't work in an ATA.
For me, the only reason for getting the SIP info is to be able to use it in something like an SPA2102 and not have to use the magicjack dongle at all.
I guess the question is, will the SIP info provide work in something like X-Lite and an ATA?

SIP info is SIP info it does not matter what device you use it in. It all depends how you use it in that device. You are also aware I hope that it requires more then just the SIP info you will need to have a proxy running or a modified chan.sip file for this to work. It more likely that your ATA is not configured correctly especially if the info works in other solutions such as xlite.
one of the issues I have seen is some ATA and SIP clients do not support a password that is 20 char long but 9 out of 10 times I encounter people not using a proxy with the SIP and blaming the SIP.
I hope this helps. |

Wait a second.... You are sort of answering a question that I asked elsewhere today (on this site, just another thread). By the way, I did not say it works in X-Lite. It doesn't work there, either, even if I only change from my working SIP info to my friends SIP info.
Are you saying that the SIP info retrieved from ANY MJ can work?
I have a DD-WRT router with mjproxy installed. I could try that to see if it works.
Here is the question I posed earlier today:
http://www.magicjacksupport.com/can-all-magicjacks-be-used-with-ata-if-sip-info-is-obtained-t8848.html
Now I think I have the answer. I just don't quite understand how to make mjproxy work in my router. Back to reading some more.
If you have any advice, I would sure like to read it. I obtained the SIP info from my friend's MJ the other day, and I want to make it work for him using a DD-WRT router and SPA2102.
I am guessing that I don't have the SPA2102 configured properly. Is there a thread on how to configure the ATA with the SIP info when being used with mjproxy?
The reason I ask is that I am using my SPA2102 with my SIP info. I am not using any support software of any kind. I simply have the SPA2102 plugged into my router and the phone plugged into the SPA2102. Nothing more, and it works great.
Apparently not everyone is able to do this.
On another note, a friend of mine out in L.A. (I am in Germany) has the exact same setup as me. Works fine with nothing but the SPA2102 plugged into a router.
After all of that, I may have confused the issue at hand. The question is, how do I configure the SPA2102 with my SIP info if I am running mjproxy in a DD-WRT router?
neo2121 - Sorry, did not mean to hijack your thread. |

JOFTAA:
After much hair pulling here's some tips.
0. setup a dd-wrt -- use the mini version. & Admin > JFFS must be on [reboot]
1. set the proxy on the ata [pap2, spa2102,..] to your dd-wrt router. i.e. 192.168.1.1:5070 <-- YOU MUST HAVE THE :5070
this goes in two places
a. SIP Port:
b. Proxy:
2. set the ata to dhcp, manual [for some reason it got turned off and the thing just didn't work.
on the pap2 be sure: System page> DNS Server Order: >> " dhcp>manual"
3. when in doubt does x-lite work? no, then it's your dd-wrt, yes, then its the ata.
4. save your pap config that works with spaconf
tools to upload & download the config file
http://www.opensky.ca/~jdhildeb/software/spaconf/
Before you go completely nutz, test the dd-wrt mjproxy with x-lite.
domain = 192.168.1.1:5070 <-- YOU MUST HAVE THE :5070 for the
user & auth user = Exxxxxxxxx01 [xxxxx=mj phone number nospaces]
-----------------------------------------

setup a dd-wrt -- use the mini version.
----
GET THE CORRECT LINK FOR THE MJPROXY. This is from the above thread:
That's why I gave you the original link. Visit here.
http://www.mediafire.com/?ky3kndgwnei
Right click on "Click here to start download.." and copy the link location. The 2nd time I did it, it was http://download736.mediafire.com/wnu394lmetzg/ky3kndgwnei/mjproxy_mipsel.ipk
But I am sure it will be different for you.
----
use putty to do 1,2,3,4
1 use putty.exe & login
2 ipkg update
3. ipkg install http://?????/mjproxy_mipsel.ipk
in the webbrower: dd-wrt:: admin>command > run command button
5. mjproxy 0.0.0.0 5070 proxy01.XXXCITYXXX.talk4free.com 5070 LONGPASSWORD
5a. then click "run command" button
----------------------------
6 webbrower: put into the admin>command in dd-wrt in the startup command
sleep 30
mjproxy 0.0.0.0 5070 proxy01.XXXCITYXXX.talk4free.com 5070 LONGPASSWORD |
