Whenever I wake up or restart my Mac, I have to log in and plug in the usb device to get my phone to work. This has happened since I installed the upgrade. I never had to do this before and is a total nuisance. They are trying to tell me this is normal and has to be done everytime.

I have been on with that joke of a chat support because after losing my contact list (2x's), I also lost all my photos, btw. I got the original contact list back after the upgrade but now I have to deal with this.

(They tried to play with my computer remotely and I stopped them as they never explained that they were doing that until I saw the mouse moving. Nice trick !!!.. make sure you ask them what they are having you download and why before you do it.)

Back to the original prob..

Although the upgrade adds CID and appears to fix the annoying problem of popping to the foreground every time a phone call comes in, it appears to crap out after a few hours. The connected phone has no dial tone and will not ring when a call comes in. The phone panel shows that a call is coming in but will not ring the handset. To fix it you must unplug the USB dongle and then plug it back in, requiring re-entering you email and password again as the above poster complains. This may require a downgrade if the problem is not corrected.

I was not concerned about the "phone" popping up when I get a call. That would be expected, as it is a form of caller ID if you have a contact list.

What I did to resolve most of the problems as listed below was to totally uninstall MJ and NOT use the upgrade. The upgrade worsened everything.
I eliminated:
- the incessant "beeping" at the other end, as a result of the upgrade
- losing my contact list (I put my imac in 'sleep' mode instead of shutting it down
- having to log in every time, as a result of the upgrade.

The upgrade was probably the worst thing I did next to trying to resolve any problems with those MJ technician wannabes.

Since my MacPro is my work computer, I'm probably going to install it on my windoze laptop and let that function as the Voip gateway. Too bad MJ doesn't have a standalone unit similar to Vonage.

I must clarify my previous comment, it appears that with the new upgrade MJ still pops up to the foreground when a call comes in or someone picks up an extension. I read of one work around for this is to put it over on a second monitor, but that still doesn't fix the problem of it becoming the current app, forcing you to switch back to the app you were using. A past published hint at MacOSXhints has another work around but involves setting up a cron job. but it appears it only runs it every five minutes, so what's the point.
