|
|
MJ is working fine for me on Intel 10.5.8. However, when I quick switch to another user, there is no interface. If I call the MJ number, it doesn't ring. If I switch back to the login running MJ, the phone will ring, etc.
Is there a way to run MJ on multiple accounts? Do I need to use a script of some kind to kill the MJ app and restart every time the user switches?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I just posted a similar scenario as a reply to http://www.magicjacksupport.com/running-mj-as-a-service-on-mac-os-x-t4449.html. I have the same problem, and cannot figure out how to solve it. Anyone with a solution?...please post a reply. Thanks. |

Okay, so after trying everything and anything to keep MJ working when switching users on my Mac, it suddenly came to me that since the MJ software installs as a system process (which is usually killed by the launchd daemon and/or kernel when fast user switching), that I would try to first get dial tone on the MJ line from my telephone handset, and then (while the line was still active (with dial tone)) switch users. Low and behold, I could then release the active MJ line on the telephone handset, and from there on get dial tone on the MJ while still fast switched out of my account! It's not a fix, but it's an easy work-around...
Also, with regard to keeping the MJ window from popping up while working on the Mac and making or receiving a call, the only semi-plausable work-around I found was to just minimize the MJ window, and then move it to the lower far right or left of the screen...it will not let you completely move it out of sight, but it does let you move it almost completely out of the way.
Hope this helps! Cheers.

| Foiled again! This works to get dial tone after switching users, but when you try to make a call, you can't break the dial tone. I'm not sure who in their infinite wisdom at MagicJack-Central decided this was good Mac software design, but I sure hope that same person or person(s) fix it with the next revision. |
