Hello,

I just installed the latest version of Magicfeatures 2.002 everything seems to work ok however after a few minutes I noticed that if I enable the double ring feature you can't hear the phone ring when calling my MJ number.

Example, When I called my MJ number using my cell phone you would hear the phone ringing in your ear, I'm not talking about the actual phone itself but that sound you always hear when calling somebody before they pick up.

I thought there was something wrong with my cell phone because all I heard was silence. So I tried my wife's phone and the same thing pure silence.

Is anyone else having the same issue?

Magicfeatures does not provide that ring back tone you are talking about that the person calling you hears on their side.

It is also not generated by the magicJack dialer but rather by one of the telephone network switches involved in the call.

The connection to Magicfeatures would be a coincidence and the problem is elsewhere on this one.

Coincidence, I don't think so because I uninstalled the MagicFeatures Plugin and all works fine like it did before.

I reinstalled the program and same issue occurred no ringing. People are trying to call and hang up because they don't think there connected.

So coincidence I don't think so. Please Help.

We are not able to reproduce any issues like you are describing when calling a magicJack from a landline.

I have to say thanks to all.

The new release 2.003 seemed to do the trick. No more issues at the moment.

I have been running it now for the past 12 hours and all is good.

Thanks Again! A+++

Hey Redpepper I just notice with version 2.002 and 2.003 the timer on the softphone does NOT work correctly. It stops after 2 seconds and sometimes it doesnt count at all. If you minimize and then maximize the dialer it now shows the correct timing, but it stops again until I do the same thing, OVER and over. I went back to version 2.0 and it now works fine.

Not a biggie but just a heads up.

Ok odd thing... 2.0 started acting weird with the call timer so I went back to 2.003 and now it worked..sheesh.......I think there is a bug in MF ( not a major bug as easy to live with) which makes the timer sometimes work and other times, not so much.
I made a call for over 5 min and all seemed ok..

Once someone asked me, Joe, how did you break your finger?? I said someone punched me in the nose.. Smile

Magicfeatures Release 2.01 is now available and includes the following enhancements targeted at allowing users with Firewall/Antivirus program blocking issues to still use almost all the features available as follows:

1. After initial installation and offhook, the user is manually prompted to enter their 10 digit MJ phone number in the Call Forwarding Assistant area of the Features Dashboard. Call forwarding enable/disable is fully functional for users with Firewall/Antivirus software blocking issues.

2. Allows users who have Firewall/Antivirus software causing blocking troubles for Magicfeatures Release 2 to be able to use all outgoing call features and activations codes including 7 digit dialing. For the latter class of users, dialing support is limited to standard dialing using the phone keypad.

3. Allows users who have Firewall/Antivirus software causing blocking troubles for the Magicfeatures Release 2 to be able to use all incoming advanced features including caller id with name. The except to this is any and all call waiting caller id related features.

If Firewall/Antivirus blocking is present, the Magicfeatures icon will turn RED in color when a call waiting call arrives. A small warning window also opens in the lower right hand portion of the screen indicating that call waiting caller id features are limited. It will temporarily remain open until the call waiting caller hangs up or the call waiting call is answered.
