Wow, that's encouraging, MJ working with a 256/256. My TC should be arriving any day now. It's a 1GHz T5700 with 256/256. I've separately ordered 512/512 but it'll take another few weeks to get here.

Can you summarize what you left on the TC and what you took off and yet still have a functioning TC? Did you delete stuff by trial and error, one at a time, then reboot to see if the TC still works? I plan on using HolmanGT and Jeepster's detailed instructions. But Jeepster's requires 512 DOM minimum setup.

thanks.

I've got a t5700 1ghz 256/256 and I have got the magicjack to work fine.

I only needed to do several things.

Uninstall all of that extra stuff to save hard drive space, set the tc to login as administrator, remove that sygate security agent, and install that usb driver.

My friend now says that the audio quality is so good, he cannot tell the difference between the mj and a real landline.

All of this thanks to this forum because before I came here, I did not even know what the heck a thin client was.

Thanks guys!

Maybe you should start a thread with the instructions on how to get a 5700 with 256/256 working, detailing the stuff you removed to get it to work. I am sure there are several people out there who would like to know what you did to get it to work correctly. One question, do you have TeamViewer or some other remote access solution installed as well or do you have to monitor and keyboard up each time you want access to the box?

I see several people using teamviewer. I'm using RealVNC (free) on various computers in the house. I plan on using Maxivista on the TC as the TC will be running my extended monitor. Maxivista can drop into remote control mode. But I think Maxivista only works within the same network (served by the same router), it's not meant to traverse over the Internet. RealVNC I'll be able to control the TC over the Internet. Is there an advantage of teamviewer over RealVNC? Teamviewer is limited to controlling one PC. No limit with RealVNC with port forwarding.

I am not sure there is any real advantage to using Team Viewer over a solution line RealVNC. I used it because after reading over many of the threads in the MJ on a Thin client forum, there were many examples of successful installation on the t5700. I didn't want to spend any more time to try to work out any problems with another product.
Team Viewer is a free for non-commercial use product as well and will allow for VNC off network connections as well, I believe.

I first did a complete reinstall, then I logged in as admin and set the thin client to always login as admin and changed that stupid thing that undoes the changes upon reboot.

I removed .net messenger, acrobat reader, citrix ica, media player, multiple components, sygate security agent, and teemnt.

Then I installed the MJ and insalled the usb driver and voila! Smile
