| I believe I found my pw on my magicjack but I cannot get it to register on my ATA or my iPhone to register. They both fail. I have two magicjacks, I have the pw for my other one as well and it does register but this new one does not want to do it. What could I be doing wrong? I do not have the dongle with me, it is in another state but I do have 5 dumps from it and have consistantly found the same 20 character pw. Any help would be much appreciated. My plan is to use this MagicJack for my iPhone and my other is for my ATA at home. |

| Well it seems like you have found your password, For the Iphone there is only one solution that works and it requires the iphone to be jailbroken. There is a a post how to install and configure Siphon Beta on the forum here. Feel free to e-mail me if you would like some private help on getting things set up correctly |

I just wanted to come back and give big Kudos to neo2121 for his help. He helped me make sure my info was correct and then informed me that my Siphon was an older version. After reading his thread about the beta Siphon I was able to install the newest Siphon and all is great. Thank you a lot neo2121. |

Okay so I've dumped my magicjack but I can't find the password. Does anyone have a sample of what it looks like? What may be around the password? Letters, numbers etc... I'm also planning on using the magicjack with my iPhone. I have siphon downloaded and ready to go. Just need this damn password |

Note: The password has been changed, also you can ignore the numbers before each line its just line number from the text editor that I use.
Ok Here it goes, the secret to my success at finding passwords. I use this same list when I do a remote recovery. What you are looking at here is from a dump file that I know the password from using a private tool. I then ran a script to find every time the password showed up. So then I just copied a few lines above and below.
The password never seems to show up in the same place consistently, So best way I have found to find the password is to do a search for some of the lines that the password has occurred around.
I always start with "EnforceDialPlanPattern" then I try "EnableTelephoneEvents" Chances are it wont be around either of these but it will be close by close I mean with in 100 - 200 lines so just scroll and keep your eyes open for something that looks like "BP6XSV7JQZ92Q70HQQ0A" to me it just jumps out to my after about 4 -5 Newcastle (Beer).
Seems like in dumps from Vista or windows 7 the first occurrence of the password is about a 1/4 of the way down from the top. And in XP dumps it seems to be 3/4's of the way down or 1/4 way up from the bottom (depending on how you look at life )
I don't know how else to explain how to find the password I really just search for one of these and then just scroll around till I see the password. One thing to keep in mind is that the Mac method still works very well and can be found in a matter seconds every time so if you know a friend with a mac use them. Or if have a few hours to spare install OS x on your PC (not very hard) anyway I hope this helps some find the password, if you still cant refer to my signature.

Do you mean password length? If so, I thought it was fixed at 20 characters. I'm running XP and having a terrible time finding the info.
EDIT: found it! _________________ -mooty |

I have been analysing and reverse engineering the mj software and dongle for over a year now. the only thing I have seen them update is the software that is critical of hiding the sip info from the end-user and also the software that detects wether the dongle is present. lol oh yea and the transmission of ads. if anyone could prove me wrong I would love to believe MJ is working towards better more stable software and service. fact is after 6 months of not using or RE'ing the software I can't even do a memory dump with a simple PEdump like program and find the sip pass. although I dident try as hard as I normally would in this scenerio. I used to beable to diasble internet boot mj and dump and in less then 2 min have all sip info.
Oh i forgot to mention the ROOTKIT like features they added. invisible drives letters and paths. just do a memory dump and you will find references to drives that don't exsist all the while the two drives that do exsist claim to be empty. they are using the same tactics that virus and worm creators use. no legitimate company runs software under cloak and dagger. even major software companys just encrypt there software openly knowing its just a matter of time before someone cracks it. but to make your software into a root kit to do good only knows what??? luckly I only run the mj on ramdisks never harddrive or flash memory or anything perminant. so the only thing they can realy do is update the dongle. but as soon as i get a scrap computer together I will see what this beast really does. lasttime I did i found 8-bit reg keys in xp that won't show up in 99.9% of commercial and private registry software. blah blah I'l keep u posted. sorry bout all typos the girlfriend spilled pop on my keyboard and i refuse to fix any words. lol later.
"I used to work for them. Besides them being crooks in regards to employees, they are hardcore about keeping people from using anything but their dongle/softphone to connect to the network. I personally wrote the code that detects the sip device type and boots you if you do not connect using a MJ softphone. Eventually they are going to look up what numbers you call and then display ads if you call certain numbers. There was also a discussion about using customer call records to identify who you are calling and then sell that information to new advertising customers. Having worked for them and then having them steal money from me, I am not all that thrilled with them"
