Anyone have luck upgrading their Wyse 9450 thin client with the latest MJ update? I have two 256/128 units that both fail during the upgrade process. Right towards the end a red box pops up that says: "Error - Broken Storage", despite write-protect being disabled. Crying or Very sad

My TC also showed the red "Broken Storage" when trying to update.
I went to the magicjack directory and clicked on the magicjack.exe file.
Magicjack then started, the softphone appeared, and everything is working perfectly. Until the next mj update, that is.

I tried everything, but could not get the "Broken Storage" message not to appear when mj was starting.

I also lost my MJ on my TC, same broken storage... the latest software update has crippled it on my TC, I'm trying to figure out what has changed and if maybe it's exceeding my memory.?? other ideas?

From everything I've seen and heard, MJ will no longer fit on a 256MB C: FLASH drive along with WinXPe. Everyone with 512MB or 1GB FLASH drives have not had a problem.

One of my t5700's 512F/256R cratered during the update also. I discovered why without too much trouble.....I had its ramdisk set at 10 Meg. Embarassed DOH! The Lucky You downgrade executable was 12 meg. I upped my ramdisk to 16M and everything upgraded fine.

Definitely worth the bucks to upgrade these little 5700s' flash to the 1G Transcend and the ram to 512M. Hopefully, it'll be awhile before Big Dan's downgrades use that up.

My 9450 only has 256MB Flash and I also got the error when it tried to update, I have been looking at my options to upgrade the DOM to 1GB and I don't see a lot of cheap options. The 256MB DOM currently installed has a 2 pin power connection on it and the kind I have seen when searching are enclosed without power connectors. Does anybody have any ideas to upgrade on the cheap?

P.S. not looking forward to imaging this again it was a POS the first time around

My Wyse 256 went belly up on last update too. I found several sources
for 1G and 512mb DOMs on Ebay. Got a 1G for 25 bucks. I am
trying to mirror the old DOM to the new one. I figure a
PC with 2 unused ide slots might get it done. Anybody else got
an easier plan? The Wyse Xpe/bios doesn't have a driver for a USB stick.
That would have been the way to go...I am sure there is an easier
way....It would be nice to run off a USB stick anyway.

TIP-boot up WITHOUT magicJack plugged in
Delete the old magicJack software from the flash drive, don't uninstall it, just delete the folder that magicJack uses. Save with the EWF. Reboot.
Plug magicJack back in. Wait for it to download the new update. Use the EWF again to save to image.
Should work until the next update is released.
Will have to do this everytime an update issued.

I purchased a 1GB DOM from eBay and used WSI (Wyse Simple Imager) to image it. for the 9450 they only have a 256MB image so I used it and although it said it failed or errored the TC booted to XPe and when I went to "my computer" it in fact accomodated for the new 1GB DOM. Wyse probably has newer and better tools to do this but I was stuck with WSI because I only had Server 2K3 and I think for the newer tools you need R2 versions and the latested service packs which I did not have. You can also use XP Pro but I don't have that either.

With the larger DOM everything is back up and running.
